Mpuma-Koloni Bee Association [MKBA],
is an association whose main focus is on Bee farming (Bee keeping), We are an association made of groups or teams from different areas within the OR Tambo District & spread throughout the Eastern Cape province. We promote Apiculture (Beekeeping), mitigate & upload industrial interrelations from private, governmental and non-governmental structures This programme is one of the strategies for developing Beekeeping further from the lowest Honey producers, to the largest Honey producers while making sure that good different types of Honey & mead are identified & sold in marketplaces. We are affiliated with SABIO.

MKBA represents above 400 members of large & small-scale beekeepers throughout the Eastern Cape and 200 of them are members of SABIO (National Body). The MKBA is a member of the South African Bee Industry Organisation (SABIO), an association of beekeepers which started in 1907 in Transvaal, 1909 in Natal and 1911 in the Western Cape and eventually came together in 1921 as South African Association of Beekeepers (SAAB). Only in 2003 was it eventually known as SABIO.
